We believe that a strong foundation in education is a combination of a detailed and specialized curriculum and a safe environment where students are free to explore their curiosity, discover their talents, and nurture their strengths.

Learning is a lifelong journey, and under the guidance of our capable faculty and staff, the students of PTC, Providence treatment Center  are taught how to take it. They don’t just absorb lessons, we teach them how to learn, a valuable skill that will help them keep growing long after their time with us.

About Us

Providence Treatment Center (PTC) is a Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved non-public day school and treatment center located in Missouri City, Texas, a suburb southwest of Houston. PTC provides educational and treatment services for children, youth and young adults with learning problems related to behavioral and emotional difficulties. PTC specializes in working with individuals that have severe behavior problems related to the following diagnoses:
  • Autism
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Multiply Handicapped
  • Auditory Impairment
  • Visual Impairment
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Major Depression
  • PDD
  • ODD
  • ADHD

PTC was established in 1997 as a stepping-stone between the least restrictive environment (public school) and the most restrictive environment, i.e. residential treatment. PTC was designed to facilitate the return to the community environment. Thus far, PTC has had a great deal of success with reintegration back into the community.

Many parents have been able to return to work due to our schedule and our level of success with their child. PTC’s hallmark is an individually tailored school with a low staff to student ratio, highly structured environment with behavior treatment and an integrated educational, sociological and medical model.

The team at PTC is composed of highly dedicated professionals with diverse expertise in education, therapy, and administrative support. Our staff includes Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraeducators, and administrative personnel, all working collaboratively to support the center’s mission. With extensive training and a commitment to individualized care, the staff ensures each student receives tailored support in a nurturing and structured environment.
Our professionals are equipped with certifications and licenses that reflect their expertise and dedication to quality care, including:
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, demonstrating specialized skills in implementing behavior intervention plans.
  • Certifications in special education teaching, ensuring academic instruction aligns with each student’s unique needs.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training, emphasizing safe and respectful de-escalation techniques.
  • Extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic methods, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
This dynamic team combines technical knowledge with a compassionate approach, fostering an inclusive environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
